There isn't enough clearance to insert the rear studs once the head is installed because the windshield header is in the way.
The "trick" is to insert the rear sets of studs into the heads BEFORE you put the head on to the block. Folks use cable ties on the studs to keep the studs from completely seating to keep the stud from sticking out the bottom and messing up your new gasket while you slide the head into place.
You can remove the HVAC box heat shield and cover to gain clearance on the passenger side. You have to egg in the cab just a little on the driver's side to clear a torque wrench.
