Looks great Glenn! I like your air box set up. I'm assuming you like the sound proofing and such? I didn't check your thread to see if you posted your findings on if it helped or not.
What kind of batteries are those? I think I'm going to be battery shopping next spring. All I can do is look at mine and start mine at the moment. They have put enough salt down on the roads around here to melt Antarctica.
Hopefully your hard work has paid off and your wife will be satisfied with the sound deadening! Nice job Glenn!
Thanks Thomas, so far the sound proofing seems to be worth it. This weekend I'll pull the 5er, I'll know for sure then. Next week I'll post my finding in the sound proofing thread.
Those are very, very expensive XS Power battery's. Got them from SummitRacing. They spin the motor over so fast I think its going to throw the fly wheel out, LOL
Nice work on the sound proofing it does make a significant difference. Did you also do the door seal mod where you pull foam backer rod through the tube door seals. That made a big difference for my red sig truck. Nice engine bay pix, no boost fooler?
The truck looks great Glenn, it really does. I'm really happy to hear that it is running like it should be. I'm curious to see how it performs when you get your house hitched up behind it. It sounds like it should be a beast!
Looks great Glenn. I'm interested to see what kind of boost you'll get with the 5er behind you!
Thanks and can't wait to see the boost numbers also.

Sure will, PM me your number again. I'm sure I have it somewhere???

Also, 40 psi and quiet...now you're starting to sound like a 6.7 Just kidding!
The piping came with the s366 kit. From what I hear, nothing wrong with the 6.7 except the price, LOL. I wonder if the factory sound proofs them at all??

No, I never got around to the foam backer rod or new seals. Where do you get the stuff? Also I was thinking about new door seals but didn't get around to that either. I have a boost fooler under the back seat from Dieselsite if I set that code.

Thanks Nate, that means a lot. On a short test run I really couldn't tell anything different about the new body mounts. Maybe this trip I will.

glad it all seems to be coming together for you and good luck on the trip!
Thanks, I wish it would stay clean but it won't, LOL
My tach was the same way.. when i took it out the 'sticker' or the thing that has the numbers came loose and affected the needle.
You may just need to hit the junk yard and get another. I'm not sure if speedo can be done like tachs due to the odometer(memory stored in pcm or in the speedo?)... but worth a shot.

I would think so. Seems pretty quiet even on the outside too.
I've been told that a boost fooler is just a leak. Your tuner should be able take care of the code. IIRC.
Oops hit the wrong button.
On edit: Looks great Glenn! Have a good trip and I hope the wife is happier with the noise reduction. Oh you too I guess.........
Hey Pete. I put one of the boost foolers on just a week ago or so as I set that 238 code on my last hard pull this summer. I don't want to damage the map sensor, whether I would at 40psi or not I'm not sure, but the code was set so I put one on.
What do you mean by just a leak? I don't want to mess with my tunes, they work so well besides the last trip setting that code, and a little rpm fluxing with the cruise on at 70ish mph.
I set a 238 all the time. I forgot to ask Jody about it when I saw him last month. Anyway a buddy was getting his rig live tuned and had one of those boost fooler things. Or something along those lines. It may have been defective for all I know. I'm assuming these things all work the same. I may be incorrect on all counts. It was indicated the 238 could be removed via tuning if need be. Not a change in tuning but disable the code. However that is done. I reserve the right to be completely full of it. But thats how I remember it. LOL
