Okay I need help
Apparently you know some history to this truck. If there were no clutch problems or TERRIBLE noises prior to parking this truck it is not likely the flywheel bolts have loosened up since.
Possibilities:
1. Sitting several years could create a no compression situation. I do not have enough experience with this engine to say that sitting several years could allow the crank to shear upon start up.
2. Undercharged batteries.
3. Faulty electrical connections, relay.
"@3:06pm- I put it in gear and turned the flywheel and it moved a good four or five inches before the truck rolled...."
If the truck is in gear and the starter turns and the truck does not move while the truck is in gear then your starter is not engaging the flywheel and you have a starter, battery, electrical connection, or electrical problem. ***Consult the manual and follow all safety precautions, all diagnostic procedures, and maintain all necessary clearances prior to performing any more diagnostic tests.***
I find it hard to believe 8 cylinders would have absolutely no compression, and wouldn't the engine still turn over? Just not get anywhere?
Tried a friends welding batteries, 1200cca, same thing.
I know there are a few issues electrically, but this is mechanical.
The starter engages the flywheel. It yanked the truck backward when I put it in reverse, friend didn't watch the belts tho:/
I'm having my Sgt come help me out wed, til then, do y'all have any suggestions? I'm completely stumped...
I wouldn't waste any more time on it. Start pulling that engine.
Do you think I could pull the plugs and get some fluid out to turn it over?
Wouldn't that have snapped a bolt or something? I haven't taken a light to the flywheel yet and look at it tho
