There seems to be a lot of simple observations that were missed in this diagnosis. Maybe someone with more knowledge should help you and maybe you should relay, to the forum, some more observations. Keep your fingers away from the belts when the ignition is on or the engine is turning.

This is what it sounds like when the starter engages the flywheel and cranks the engine over:

This vid below shows what it sounds like when the starter doesn’t engage the flywheel. The second attempt is what it sounds like when the starter engages and actually starts the engine.

I just dipped by on my lunch break, I don't have a way of holdin the phone and turning it over to show the flywheel cranks, but here's what it sounds like.

Uh...OH! Not good!
Zero compression!
The flywheel is spinning but not the motor or the motor is spinning and has no more pistons in it.

Edit: I reread your first post. I think you may have snapped the crankshaft!

Is it the crank or the flywheel? I don't hear any grinding or anything I just picked up a socket to turn the harmonic balancer.

It does sound like no compression, but......, are the belts turning?

If the belts are turning it is probably zero compression.

I haven't seen them, but once again I haven't stared at the harmonic balancer while trying to crank it.

I could not move the harmonic balancer with my socket, probably because I had the glow plugs in and it has compression?

I put it in gear and turned the flywheel and it moved a good four or five inches before the truck rolled.

Also I decided since I was under there to drain the oil. There was maybe a tablespoon of water if that makes a difference, it's honestly probably from the broken off glow plug, but it's held In place somehow? There were no metal shavings in it.

What the f? I'm lost...

Sounds like the starter is not engaging the flywheel. You probably need a new starter. You said at earlier the flywheel was turning but not the fan.. I think you may have been mistaken about that.

Brand new doesn't mean it's working properly. Where did you get it?

I know, it clearly spins the flywheel, my face was right next to it when my friend cranked it yesterday

Yep, It sounds like the flywheel and clutch are spinning but not the crankshaft.
Time to pull the transmission and the bellhousing off and see if all the bolts backed themselves out or broke off in the crank. Sorry bud, no other quick fix available.

Yes you can pull all the glow plugs out and relieve the compression and see if you can turn the rest of the motor over by hand at the crank bolt.

YMMV Sean

****Are your belts moving as the starter is MAKING NOISE?*****

Since you were able to move the vehicle through the crankshaft's 5" of rotation, by the balancer bolt, you probably have something else wrong. You said that you could hear the engine turn but did not see the belts move- could your starter be turning and not engaging the flywheel? The sound from the video SEEMS like an engine with no compression, but maybe that sound in the video is your starter running at lower than normal rpms, OR the bendix is not engaging.

How do you know if the flywheel was turning?

I know you have a new starter. I would suggest cleaning ***ALL*** of your electrical connections to the starter and the battery and the ground(S).
Maybe you actually hear the starter turning but it doesn't have enough amperage to engage fully?

You may have a new starter but if the starter is not getting its full amperage because of bad connections or weak batteries, the starter may not function properly. TWO good batteries at 690 cca/ 862 ca's should be enough to turn your engine over in moderate temperatures.

Please make sure you are wearing safety glasses while you perform these diagnosis.

No belts have turned at all, in any time I have had the truck.

I could not hear the engine turn, but the flywheel and the starter.

I pulled the starter and grounded it with a jumper cable, and hit the solenoid, it sounded the same, a little more high pitched because of speed, obviously it was turning a flywheel along with it, along with the flywheel rotating to a stop.

And I would get a video of the flywheel but I'm going to filter the oil and see what kind of junk if any is in it, and then put it back in for now, no point in buying new oil if I have to tear the motor apart for a new crank?
