Okay to start off I'm new to diesel and I figured start of simple so I got a 87 6.9 with 91000 all original miles well all was going good for about3 weeks and it started acting like the starter would stick and try to turn over by itself so I did some research and found a bad solenoid and ignition switch so I replaced them both and then it wouldn't turn over at all so I tried to jump it and found I had a bad starter so I replaced that and now with the truck on jumper cables for over an hour it will not engage the starter I have power to everything but the starter will not turn any ideas? According to the volt meter I have 8 with the glow plugs and when they shut off it goes to about 10
Sounds like a battey issue to me, should have around 12.5 to 12.75 and about 11 glow plugs lit, if one battery has a dead cell it will drain the other, charge them both individually then test each individually
two brand new batteries and still the same thing starter tests good still just spinning any help would be greatly appreciated I'm borrowing a truck I don't want to be stuck in a Chevy forever
