Thought I would start here with my fellow Excursion owners.
I just bought an SCT 3015 tuner and exhaust. I loaded the canned performance tune and installed the exhaust, the truck s a beast now. WOW!
I did the EGR delete and new oil cooler this past summer. The truck isn't studded but we don't drive her hard either. Only looking to get the best mpg's we can. Which after driving her around yesterday with just the tune (put the exhaust on today) we have noticed a large gain already. Our boat weighs in about 6k-6500 lbs which i was planning on using the Street tune to pull it.
Should I go back and just use the Street tune instead?
Thoughts? Or should I ask my question in the 6.0 forum?
For Towing we tow about 15 miles one way on back roads to get to the lake. Usually April till October. Otherwise it is the wife's driver, she is a stay at home mom, so a couple times a week to the store. Then we also use the X to go on road trips.
I'm looking at gauges, just don't have that in the budget right now.
So biggest question, Is the Performance tune OK for now or should I switch back to the Street tune?

I'm curious, did the truck struggle towing the boat 15 miles and the tune & exhaust helped?
The truck had no issues pulling the boat. Just went with a tune and exhaust to squeeze the most mpg's out of the truck. With the added benefit of better performance. I like staying away from the fuel station as much as I can. 44 gallon tank on the Excursion is awesome. Before the tune and exhaust traveling to Missouri we would get 18-19 mpg (driving the speed limit) it would be cool to see over 20. Travel from Fort Worth Texas none stop to Jefferson City Missouri (no fuel stops that is) is great and still show up with a 1/4 tank left.
I lifted both heads with the street or performance tune 5000lbs and a heavy foot. You decide what to do with your truck but I sure wouldn't do it again.
