Another SCT question

So I just ordered my 4" exhaust and an SCT tuner with canned tunes.
I have a 05 f250 with 130k no studs, new oil cooler, egr delete, blue spring and a brand new FICM.
My question is between the 50hp tow tune and the 65hp tow tune. Witch one should I run?

Any of them. The Street is a good daily driver and the Performance Tune has good MPG on the highway.

Tow50 is decent, my truck isn't a fan of the Tow65 for whatever reason.

If you want some fun go to gearhead and get SRL tune, my truck is not studded either and he wrote the tune with that in mind, but all I can say is wow, for a 8k lb truck, I had it sideways today, I had to back off. Scared me for a minute. But was fun

All I am looking for is towing my 25' 7300lbs camper up and down the Idaho hills better and with better mileage.

What didn't you like about the 65hp?

I don't want to presume to speak for Josh, but some trucks just don't like some tunes. It could be one thing, it could be a combination of little things, or it could simply be driver preference.

Compared to Tow50 and Street, the Tow65 spools slower and the Trans shifts funny.

Don't know why, just weird.

I have Gearhead's 8K and SRL along with Vivian's Looney Tunes.

8K seems to be a great all-around tune. SRL has a kick to it no doubt, but I need to have Matt tweak the Trans strategy.

Raped-Ape describes the Looney Tune. Kind of has a light switch effect.

Is it shifting too harsh?

So between the 8k and the canned 50hp, what's your opinion?

I ran the 65HP all last week, great towing for me up and down hills. Got 15.3 mpg while towing a 25' camper and 18.8 unloaded on highway at 70mph.

8k is a lot better than the Tow50.

8k seems very similar to the canned Street tune, just smoother

I think it shifts too fast and then the TQ takes forever to lock-up in overdrive.

I'm all for firm shifting. The canned Performance tune with firm shifts is great IMHO.

Once warmed up the Looney Tune is great too. Cold not so much.

Very nice. This is the specific feedback I am looking for!

Don't forget I'm at sea level here in Virgina. Pulled the camper into western PA, probably 1300' in elevation. Pulled a 6% grade at 70mph, plenty of go power left. It did take it a little to lock up in overdrive, but overall I'm happy with the tune. I was running street tune and was only getting about 14-16 city/highway. Loved the power, hated the mileage. I'm still running the 65HP right now because of the mileage, power isn't bad but not on par with the street tune.

I'm already talking to Matt at Gearhead as I'm studded, fuel pumped, exhaust and a bunch of other stuff... ready for some serious HP!

Where in Idaho? I grew up there, Lewiston is 750' above sea level.
