Nah you would make it, they are not solid, just sort of "tinted". And yes they are absolutely hilarious (hideous) looking.

Saved my day driving through OR and WA with the windows cracked open pretty good and no rain getting in. My defrost was not the greatest for some reason, and the wipers were worse. But the fresh air kept things manageable for the trip.
Now, nobody's saying they were the height of stylishness even back then. But they did the job.

Surprised they're even still stuck. But whatever glue they used on the foam back then was pretty good stuff.
