Craigslist find of the week!

I am going to check out this gem today...

Correct me if I'm wrong but that doesn't look like a 72

Super duper rare shortbed 72' dent side.:-X04 At only $2,500, it is the steal of the century.

fabmandelux 10-19-2013 08:23 AM

$2,500 for this POS? Not on your life! It is a dent side NOT a bump side 72. Locked up engine, no trans, and a rusty body for twentyfive hundred bucks?........................lol

GM4WALLS 10-19-2013 08:27 AM

I am going to check it out. I am hoping that the camper shell preserved the bed. I only paid $1,200 for a 79' in better shape that runs and drives... If the bed on this 73' (I am assuming) is worth buying, I am going to try to talk the owner into parting out the truck for reasonable prices.

I simply can't understand how they can get prices like that back there.....

I bought this 67 F-250, rust free pickup for 500 bucks and drove it home!

Sure glad I live in Oregon............:-X22

GM4WALLS 10-19-2013 08:39 AM

They can't. That truck will sit and the owner will end up having it hauled off for scrap. I will give him my card and offer him scrap pricing for it, if the bed is salvageable. I will pull it home, remove the parts that aren't completely gone and haul the rest off. Sadly, I don't think the owner will see any reason if he is delusional enough to even ask that much for this heap. I paid $500 for my donor truck, and it only needs a bed floor and cab floor.

wow thats just crazy, i live in New York and found a 74 f100 ranger xlt for sale on the side of the road, had to stop and look at it. body was pretty solid with just one quarter size rust spot on the driver side door ( just below the dent, thought that was odd ) had a paper attached to window going on and on about it being a one owner and rust free had only 45000 miles on it . not bad, i thought, but not that good either they were asking $12,000 for this thing. i looked underneath and the whole under side of the truck was covered in heavy rust scale. i mean chunks that you could pick off. the frame and body were covered in it. saw it on craigslist a few moths later for $7500. i understand that these old trucks are getting harder to find but really... lets be realistic here people.
sorry just venting i guess lol. i'd offer maybe 700 hundred tops for that thing. no tranny, engine set up. been sitting for years. no telling what else has gone to hell on it.

$1500 is a good price...

iggybob44 10-19-2013 12:43 PM

Since moving to Oregon, ive purchased 2 dentside F250 Highboys for a total of $3000. A 76, 390, C6, 205, PTO winch, nice body, nice interior. needs a couple tires. the 2nd is an early 77, 460, C6, 205, nice body and interior, alloy wheels and good tires, chrome warn winch bumper. I to have seen the delusional ads where an owner thinks he has a "Vintage collectible", rather than an old rustbucket

Dasher400 10-19-2013 01:32 PM
