Have to appreciate the amount of work seller put into it and very honest description in the listing. Its a killer driveline for sure!
All personal but I think with that much work, maintaining a dentside body on a 79 would be a more attractive package and reach a bigger buying pool plus he could have got an A/C cab and at least maintained that option.
Look at the wide gap between bed and cab because of the 2" difference in WB. No way to fix that easy. Most probably won't want to live with that. I know I wouldn't.
Thanks for posting this interesting truck Rich!
I agree, if you put all that work into the running gear, then stay with a 79 dent side body style and get a/c to boot. But I guess if you just love a bump side style, but want a better bottom end, this one would be right up someone alley.
I see that add and go wow there is a bump/dent side guy that is fairly close to me and I do not know him. I any going to reach out to see if he knows about FTE, recruit them when ever and or from where ever.
$2500.00 1979 Ford F100 1/2 ton 4x4 project truck. Has a big lift kit. 390 or 428 engine, 4 speed transmission. Runs good, good title. Mainly needs body work to finish.
If anyone comes and buys it, I will come help load it AND give you a FTE bumper sticker.
The first step in ANY Twelve Step Program is to admit you have a problem.
The second step: admit you are powerless over said problem.
The third step: ask for help...not OFFER help loading!
l'm thinking of starting a northern BC chapter of Ford-aholics Anonymous.
What l really need is a good 20' equipment trailer...to haul more trucks home.
The old herd has changed, red truck is about done with a slick up restro, ol blue is trucking along, ol silver was.... until I had a elec fire. Just need the time to replace the dizzy. Red bronco is still crawling, Bronco way in the back SOLD, bought 2 more early Broncos and 3 other parts trucks.
Yes I have a problem, I am a Forder...much like a horder, but way cooler stuff. BTW I have a 20' trailer.. I only offer to help load it so I can AVOID buying it. Ok 2 FTE stickers and a FTE ball cap to who ever shows up and buys it.
Ah, well...at least you own your obsession...and a couple of nice future projects as well.
Me? l'm still a closet Forder: Slowing down to survey abandoned farm trucks while driving home alone...
Seriously though, there's more than one rust bucket around here that l wouldn't mind dragging home, even just for yard art.
Edit: ad sez "Runs Good"
...or as a 'beater' to run in the winter...or as a ranch truck...or a mud bog project...or a plow truck...or even a crazy rock crawler!
