Blue Spring Upgrade Question

I completed my first service on my 'new to me' 07 6.0 today and was happy to find all Motorcraft filters (oil and fuel, I didn't do the trans this time) but I did drain the HFCM and the plug looked good, no rust and a small amount of water (maybe a teaspoon at most) and changed to the brass thumb screw style drain plug. My question concerns the Blue Spring Upgrade I have the kit in hand but didn't take the time to change it out today and would like to know if that can be done without removing the fuel filter cap or if that has to be off and the filter drained to do it? Thanks in advance.....Mcrafty1. P.S. If I knew how to post info on my truck ie: what I have for a truck and the upgrades I have done and things like that I would do that too. If someone could tell me where on the site to go enter that info so it would be included in my posts automatically at the end I would appreciate that too.

Naa. You don't have to pull the filter. Put a rag under there to catch the fuel, it will drool some.

In the blue bar near the top of any page- first block on the left is "users CP" that's your control panel. Once you open that up there is a list of threads you have posted in and below that is your rep points list. On the left side in the "settings and options " block is "edit signature" click on that and type what you want in message box, "preview" if you want to check it. If it looks good click "save signature" and you're good.

Don't put off changing the external transmission filter ................ It is a 30k mile requirement and it sounds like you don't know when it was done last.

For that matter, you should change/flush the trnsmission fluid so that you know what is in there and then keep it all on a 30k mile maintenance interval.

Good advice,I DON"T know when or IF it has ever been changed so I'll get a filter and change it out asap. Thanks.
