2000 Ford Super Duty 5.4L Y Pipe Help

I was hoping someone has had the same experience I have and could help me out. I want to put in a SPD Y pipe. They make 2 different ones, 99-00 and 00-04. I have a 2000 and so I've been trying to figure out which one. The SPD website's phone number goes straight to voice mail and it's inbox is full. 5 star tuning who sell's these as well told to me to just "get under the truck and see"... I'm no exhaust pro so I don't know what to look for. I just went to a ford dealership and their diagrams where the same but it did show there were different part numbers for the two different styles, so they couldn't help either. It says on SPD's website that the exhaust configuration changed somewhere in 2000. SO I was wondering if any of you have had experience with this or know what to look for in the difference. Maybe a picture of a 99 y pipe and 01 y pipe would help? Thanks for looking and any help is greatly appreciated.

At the Y Pipe from 99-2004 the y pipe goes from 3'' pipe to 1.5'' and then back out to 3''. I talked with a couple guys and they said the older version you can't see where it's restricted because it has a pretty thick wall.....and the newer configuration you can.... But I haven't been able to get any clear info on the design of the older and newer style. I can't tell where it restricts on mine so I'm assuming it's the older version but I'm just trying to make sure so I don't order the wrong one. I heard nothing but results from the SPD y Pipe so can't go wrong?

That's probably your answer, the design of mine looks pretty retarded, I can't see where it gets narrow at all but it curves around and then kind of goes over the top of it's self so that can't be good.

Mine is a 02/2000 and does not look at all like the restrictive T looking pipe. It is instead kinda like a "ram" horn manifold. Sorry no pictures
It does not look restrictive at all nor does it look modified. I will snap some shots later when I get some hoist time

5 star tuning sells the SPD pipes. The 99-00 is considered the "ram horn" style. These are a great addition and will definately make an improvement. Check out the 5.4 and v10 forums for more information.
