Pipe cutters

I'm looking for a pipe cutter that can cut 3 1/2" and 4" exhaust pipe, is fairly easy to use, and not overly expensive.

I can't find any of the standard exhaust pipe cutters that go over 3 1/4". Most pipe cutters that do accept 3 1/2" or 4" pipe are made for cutting plumbing pipe, and tend to be bulky and expensive.

It's a lot easier to cut pipe with a pipe cutter than a hacksaw. Any of you people know of a pipe cutter out there that doesn't cost a small fortune and will actually cut these sizes?

How about a cut-off saw?

As in the electric kind?

Probably way more than I want to spend.

Yeah it's real easy to make a straight cut with a sawzall.

Man, one of those would be handy, but seems like overkill to cut a couple pieces of exhaust pipe.

The problem with a cut off wheel that size is the heat will damage the thin pipe, badly.

If you are custom making exhaust, then a bandsaw is the thing.

But, just for a few pieces, it is hard to beat a sawzall and you can cut a straight line easy if you clamp the piece in a vise. Just use a short 6" blade and "almost" butt it against the piece. With a 1" stroke, this is enough blade. Where you get crazy angles is using a 12" blade that swings all over the place in narrow material.

You need a chain pipe cutter. You can do 1.5" to 6" pipe.

I've seen some of those on ebay, but they seem to be pretty pricey...

Have my eye on one on there at the moment that says it does 2-4" pipe, so we'll see.
