So can I hook up via my home wifi router and do updates and vehicle health reports?

I have a 2014 and I see the place to enter my wifi password , I don't own a smartphone so that's out.

I tried Leon's suggestion and get an error -

We're sorry, there is no Active SYNC account associated with this phone number. Please verify your account details at Get Support and Manage Your SYNC Account | Syncmyride.com

So I log onto sync-my-ride and right there under the SYNC section is
Mobile used with SYNC: 732-XXX-XXXX (my correct number)

Anyone else get an error like this?

Hi hoverp,

MFT doesn't support that functionality at this time. Currently, the system is updated by transporting the software update from your computer to the vehicle by means of a USB device. You're welcome to join the discussion and voice your opinion on this capability on Ford Social. Here's the topic: Ford Social: Wireless updates

Hi porthole,

Have you tried using an alternative browser? I've heard of data packets not being sent or received properly as a webpage error. Try clearing your cache and cookies as well.

Baaed on the above I did that, along with also trying Google Chrome.
Same results, no phone attached to the account.

According to the SYNC site my SYNC software is up to date:

Date Confirmed: Mar 22, 2011
Version: Gen1 - V3.1
AR3T-14D544-AE

Yes, I had this same experience. Turns out something wasn't completed on the initial registration when I bought the truck. I had an email from ford sync (can recall the actual sender address) of some kind that had an embedded link to click on to finish the registration, I had not done that step. Sorry, don't have any more specifics, but go back to any email you received soon after buying the truck and see if that could be the problem.

porthole,

The scenario n6nfg presented is something I've seen before. Check the vehicle To-Do list on your main SYNC account homepage, see if there aren't any notices for you to activate your Services or VHR capabilities. If you don't see anything, shoot me over a PM with your VIN and I can check to see what we have on the back-end.

I will visit the site , where do the Nav updates come from?

I'm on a Xc road trip and I get the " incomplete map data proceed with caution" warning all the time.

Thank you!

hoverp,

Our software partner for the navigation map data is called Here, formerly known as Navteq. Are you receiving this "incomplete map data" prompt on the vehicle installed with MyFord Touch?

What is the latest SYNC update and how do I get it. I have a 2011 F-450 that I purchased just under a year ago and have never done an update on. I went on to the SYNC web site in search of an update and it says "Your SYNC is Up-to-Date!", but then in my SYNC history is says I have Gen1 - V3.1 updated on May 4, 2010. Is this correct, have there been no updates since then? I feel like based on the previous post in this thread that I am missing something here.

Hi ddorband,

If you want to PM your VIN, I can verify your software level.
