Speaking of locomotives still, the Big Boy 4014 is still in Bloomington, CA according the UP link, at least until March 28.
We keep looking for updates thinking as others, it would be neat to see it moving up the Cajon Pass if we knew the schedule.

I have had a friend that was arrested by Santa Fe RailRoad Police for trespassing doing the same thing. Of course this was in 1985 so they still are considered police officers.

Interesting, how does one get arrested for trespassing when one is not on RR property? Sounds ridiculous to me. Not saying it didn't happen, just saying it is ridiculous.

U.P. Says they have an updated schedule for the 4014 Big Boy but their site doesn't indicate that yet.
We'll keep checking.

Okay, schedule is posted. The Big Boy will be leaving early April 28, Monday from the Ontario area (Bloomington), and headed towards Victorville, expecting to arrive up there around 12:30 p.m.

See the schedule below.

Anyone interested in making an early trip out to Hill 582 that Monday? It will also be stopping just west of the 15 on 138 at 10:30-11:00 for inspection, so probably passing Hill 582 around 11:15 or so.

Bet we could get some great pics, SRO.

Idk how I've never seen this thread!!! I love the BigBoys!!! They just don't rarely ever come to the Midwest... about Nebraska is how close they get

4014 made it to Yermo this evening, and heads out for Las Vegas in the morning. It'll be on display there all day Wednesday.

Kinda' neat that the UP dispatched its current #4014 to be the lead engine in this move, with the current #4884 right behind the Big Boy.
