Yeah, it takes a few drives to get your ice / snow driving skills down. Anticipate idiots and brake early.

Tie Siding, you have to be a UPRR buff to know of this place. While you were in the area, did you stop by the Ames Monument?

Far from a UPRR buff, actually found it enroute to Wyoming to see it haha.... I wasn't alone either.

No I didn't stop at the monument, I'll have to read up about it.

So today we got about 12 to 18 inches of snow in Greeley and fort Collins where I work got last I heard 18 plus inches....so I didn't bother going to work, which worked out because I got to go see big boy for it's stop in Greeley Colorado along with the other 500 ish people and all the kids because of snow day.

The Ames Brothers of MA were the principle financial backers of the UPRR, they were also involved in the Credit Mobilier financial scandal.

The pyramid shaped monument was erected by the UPRR, the tracks used run right by it and over the years, passengers shot the Ames' noses off.

The Wild Bunch (Butch, Sundance and etc) robbed a train near Wilcox WY .. There's a picture of the Express Car after they blew it all to hell with dynamite.

Funny you mention the wild bunch.... Saterday I took a trip out to Casper, Wyoming to buy a tool box....on my way back I wandered down towards medicine bow, Wyoming and saw this along side the road not too far past medicine bow.

this was Virginia Dale, CO. I try to stop and investigate point of interest signs on my random adventures.

That is interesting. Never heard of a mud pot before, much less a moving one. And that one is older than me. LOL
