I like the instant on feature along with no batteries required of the sg2. IF i was a passenger i'd have time to fiddle with the dashboss or app devices.

That makes no sense considering the SG can only display 4 PIDs at a time and to bring up another requires scrolling through several until another is found.

DB and Torque show 12+ one on screen and others are just a swipe away.

Or just start the App and hit record and no need to even look at the screen.

Between surfing the net, games, music, using the calendar, FTE and oh yea, talking on it, my iPhone is ruling my world. Anything that gets me away from it for a little bit is a blessing. I don't have need a cartoonish display to know what my ICP was at start up this morning, a block number works just fine, and I don't have to wait as long for everything to start talking to each other, as a matter of fact, I lived with DashBoss for a few weeks and it's now in a shoebox on the garage shelf. ScanGauge is in my truck. To be fair though, if I have a intermittent problem, I'll break it out for the record and graph functions. It also impresses family members and friends when they stop by with a CEL.

Programming the XGauges is kind of a pain but it is the thing that makes the ScanGauge useful. It's possible to add gauges and experiment, you're not locked in to the items on the menu that loads on the screen, you put the numbers in. Some computer savvy guys are writing data TO the PCM with a scan gauge, turning off back-up beepers and seat belt buzzers and such. I guess we just don't have any 6.0 folks with the background to do that kind of stuff but it has the capability.

Take a minute and look on Amazon. ScanGauge has been available since Oct 2000 and has 4.5 out of 5 customer satisfaction. Use what you like but truth is ScanGauge is great inexpensive device.

I am in no way affiliated with Linear Logic with the exception of being a satisfied customer.

Ahhh, nothing like a healthy debate, is there?! A friend that I helped get a well used F150, stopped by the other day -- had a CEL on. I took my $18 worth of equipment out and checked it. It told me in english what it was, not just a code and then I reset it.

Now, for folks that don't have a smartphone.... Well, maybe this is just another reason to buy one!

It really does come down to personal choice, right? Some folks would rather have gauge pods...

At least we all know we need to watch what's going on under the hood!

I have used DB to scan CEL's on numerous vehicles, test drove a Mercedes Sprinter Van using DB and various other things.

I like it, I'm certainly not ashamed to admit that.

I'm of a generation who remembers when K-mart put up the calculator display. We would stand there punching in numbers and marvel at how fast it worked. 4x12=48....yup, that's right wow! The calculator on my IPhone has a display designed to look like those old things. If you don't like it you can change it..

SGII does just fine for me. If I want codes I'll plug in my Predator, which does live data and datalogs. If I want more detail I'll plug in AE. Most of the codes I know by heart anyway. Maybe I've driven this truck too long--LOL.

You know, I've said myself "ScanGauge isn't a great code reader" but really, I have never had a CEL and it failed to pull a code, or pulled a code with another device after SG failed. There have been times I felt like I "should" have a code and it didn't find one, and I've yet to pull a code after a wrench light. I guess that's were that came from.
I've also never read a post where someone pulled a code with it and discussion went on to the "freeze frame" data it can display. On mine, with the code on the screen, the top right button is labeled "more". If you scroll through there, it lists many PID's like rpm, speed temps etc. present when the code was set. I've used it several times, good stuff. Not every PID is populated with data for some reason, but sometimes what is there is helpful.

Fortunately the washing machine does have an LCD display, just that as a package it can do more than the ScanGauge. :P

Just how many engine / preformance functions does this washing machine monitor?

Does it also monitor oil pressure?

I haven't found that yet on my ScanGaugeII, but I'm still learning.

The Wash machine wouldn't be tooo bad, it could multi-task and do laundry on the go

The 6.0 doesn't have a sensor for the LPOP. But a sensor can be installed and added to the Dashboss.

Also add EGT, Degas and Fuel Pressure.

I think the question was whether or not you could add that to the washing machine. And Cody will have to figure that one out I'm thinking he may want to take the passenger seat out and put the washer over there...

and Rusty: There was no such thing as color TVs, let alone calculators and Safeways (grocery stores) had self serve tube testers (and replacements), back in the day. But it's feelin' old is what's gettin' to me....
