One of my thermostat sensor plug wires twisted off right at the base of the plug, not enough to solder back together. So currently have no temp gauge. Looking at the plug, it looks like a sealed unit. Doesnt look like i can the plug apart and wire up the contacts again. Any thoughts/ideas? thanks
Yes. They sell the plugs with wire attached to it to be reattached to the factory wireing. Not sure if the make the one for the temp sensor though. That's the reasons I mentioned the junk yard too.
I KNOW the pigtail you speak of is unavailable from Ford. I know this is because several techs have asked about the availability of this particular connector. I do have more than a few engine harnesses sitting in my garage. It's too bad you aren't in my neck of the woods, or I could snip one off for you.
I have an answer but it will take a minute for me to dig it up.
Something every Ford owner should have on there computer is a copy of the pigtail catalog
It at the top of this link I have a single PDF version https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...ch-folder.html
The part number s I found are WPT437 or 3U2Z-14S411-LVA
I found 3 in stock at this link to Amazon. double check the part number with M-Chan
I need to go look but that almost looks like the replacement
headlight lamp socket pigtail they sell at Autozone or Pepboys.
That part is around $10.00
or u could buy some butt connectors, cut off the wiring to the plug, take the plug to autozone, and order another one, then splice the new connector onto the current wiring. just an idea.
