yea I am leaning towards the 6637 due to price and budget (mega millions please lol). I also look at the garrett 38r turbo oh man I would like to install that wow it looks nice compared to stock.
the 38r a great upgrade especially if your planning on stage 1 or 2 injectors!
The 38r is a direct replacement for the original on a stock or built motor, Riffraff and Diesel orings have the best price consistantly for factory new Garrett 38rs. also they are always a phone call away for assistance. Its an easy install. The AIS is the way I would go for a daily driver or towing as its quieter with great filtration. I've not heard a 6637 and don't want to hear anything, unless the truck is for play.
I've heard the 6637. It may be OK (to some) for running around town (as if a diesel is made for this), but many agree the long hauls will drive you daffy with that dastardly droning.
I run a 6637 on my 550 that tows daily and I like the sound of it over stock, the only comparison I really have. I definitely don't find it to loud. I have the foil off the hot side too besides that I'm basically stock under the hood.
There's a thread floating around here with everything you need to make a cold air box for the 6637. I made one and slapped it in there and have no complaints with noise level. And an added bonus is it makes under the hood look a lot cleaner.
