DieselSite Coolant Filter Kit leaking where filter meets base?

I've had my DieselSite Coolant Filter Kit for a while now and it's been leaking ever since I installed it where the filter meets the aluminum base. The evidence is the dried coolant splattered all over my AFE stage II cold air intake box that sits right next to the filter and down the side of the filter.

Anyone else experiencing this with the most recent DieselSite kit? It's got me wondering if there is some cylinder pressure making it's way to the degas bottle via worn injector o-ring then finding an escape point at the filter base.

Thanks,
Drake

Mine has never leaked. Check the fitting into the filter head, might be leaking from there, making it seem like its coming from the filter just below. Take off the filter and feel the mating surface where the gasket seats against the head to see if its smooth. A scratch or or small dent or gouge in the aluminum might leak. As for the o-ring theory, I think you would see a much bigger problem in the degas bottle. Also lube the gasket before installing. Hope you run the problem down.

I did lube the o-ring with coolant before install but I probably should have lubed it with oil. I was just being OCD about not contaminating my fresh ELC coolant with anything.

I had problems with mine leaking also. I tightened it so much I deformed the case getting the leaking stopped. Next time, I'll try some O-ring silicone sealant stuff I have.
