Little update...
I replaced the HFCM with a new one from rockauto. What a mess!!! Still the same. All the values I checked with the Scan gauge seemed to be like they should. I think it's an injector. When I accelerate when engine is cold, I have misfires. Like one cylinder wouldn't fire proberly. I start hating that truck!!
Is the sg2 showing misfires?? Btw, did you pay the $4.99 for the torque app?? If so, if you go into the settings there is a powerstroke download that is included in the app. But it has to be manually downloaded
I replaced the HFCM Unit.
But If it were the glow plugs, why would it take 10 Minutes to make the truck run ok? Even with a broken glow plug, it should run normally after 1-2 minutes.
Not sure what could be the problem with the ficm. I monitor the voltage, which is always 48-48.5V.
Could that still be the problem? That would be crazy, cause the truck runs just perfect, once warmed up.
Obviously a contribution balance test ONLY when cold would do it. Mine aren't bad enough yet and runs great within 2 minutes of running. Mine won't stick unless it sits for several days. Cranking after an overnight soak doesnt show any problems.
A buzz test might do it, but it must be after a long soak to cool down.
Archoil is supposed to be the latest miracle additive. I just got mine delivered, so I haven't tried it yet.
Added the 6200 this morning. I put in 50 ml on a 25 gallon tank of fuel on top of my cetane additive. I thought it felt smoother within two minutes, abs I wasnt even trying to notice it .... But I did notice. However, I'm reserving judgement until after I run two tanks at double the recommended dosage.
I actually measured the decibles thus morning before adding the 6200. I'll measure it again after two tanks. My injectors are pretty loud.
I also have the 9100 oil additive that I will add at my next oil change. I want to change one thing at a tinge and see the diffeence. I think I'll stop the 6200 when I add the 9100 to the oil and run a few thousand that way before using the rest of the 6200. If I see a big difference, I'll keep running both.
Yes me too. Is there anything I can do to the injectors besides some fluids you pour in the tank?
How can I find out which injector is the problem?
Last winter I had some real bad cold starts Changed the Oil to a Rottella 5w 40 synthetic and I put in 4oz of RevX . My truck starts on a turn of a key and No rumble when cold for $30 bucks I'm a believer.
