I couldn't set up EBP, yet. Still fighting the SG2!
What was baro again? atmospheric pressure?
I recogniced one more confusing thing. Just came home after work. Let the truck idle for 10 seconds like always, before shutting it off. Truck started running rough, and the exhaust sound changed, hearable from inside the truck. Looked at the SG and VGT dropped to 13-15. After a couple seconds the truck idlet normaly again, and VGT raised to 70 again. What was that??
Daniel
Your MAP looks fine to me, what elevation are you at? Somewhere around 5000 ft? you lose about .5 PSI of atmospheric pressure per 1000 feet in elevation increase. The MAP, BARO and EBP should be within .5 PSI of each other at KOEO. Also the VGT cycling can be the PCM strategy where if the engine is left to idle for a certain length of time it will sweep the turbo inlet vanes to keep them from sticking.
Dan that's coming from the upper fuel bowl or oil filter housing? wow never heard that one , let me PM Cheezit or M- chan and see if they can join us for this one.
with out going threw a bunch of post because basicly im feeling lazy....
your truck is fuel knocking or so it sounds to me.
so far as the sound from the filter housing goes unplug the fuel pump and cycle the key see if its still there.
if its gone then make sure you dont have any fuel airation. check the filter o-rings as well.
beyond on that it may just be a matter of swap a knowen good pump in and see what happens.
Thanks Cheezit, so don't try to start the truck with HFCM unplugged just turn KOEO (key on engine off) ok Dan
yup that removes any question as to other sorces of the sound. now there is a good possibility the 2 concerns are connected if my first guess is correct
Elevation is 4500ft.
The sound is definitely coming from the fuel bowl, you can feel it vibrating, and it stops, when I the fuel pump turns off.
Ok, I'll unplug the fuel pump, and cycle the key. We'll see what happens.
Just checked the price for a new hfcm...
I replaced the o-rings on the filter, and the fuel cap, both primary and secondary.
How can I make sure, I don't have fuel airation? There is no transparent fuel line.
What is fuel knocking?
fuel knocking sounds just like what your truck is doing. its not got enugh fuel to start but enugh to try.
you woul neet to make some fitting for temp use to diag it. some were i have an old section of fuel line i spliced up for doing that.
I also think that it doesn't get enough fuel. But why does it run ok when the truck is warmed up? But then sometimes it's starts like crap... Sometimes for the first 3-4 seconds it runs with 300-400 rpm's until it starts to idleing normal. Even the engine is fully warmed up.
Aw **** I'll order a new hfcm.
Unless when you did the blue spring something didn't get put in right? I still think the washer in the pic has something to add? maybe not helping with pressure .
Definety need to see if washer is pressed back down with no bends.
What washer are you talking about? I have looked this picture over and I don't see what you are talking about. It looks like the inside of the oil filter cap and it looks like a little puddle of oil on the one side of the center circle.
Brett , the right center where the filter presses down follow the center in a circle ,you will see I'll call it a washer probably another name, the housing even looks damaged at that point too.
Hmm could really be a puddle of oil. As I said, I pulled the oil filter housing again, and couldn't see a washer at all.
Anyway I unolugged the connector from the hfcm and there was no more pulsating and vibration.
I ordered a fitting to check the fuel pressure. But it points to the hfcm/fuel pressure.
