Excellent! Work has been crazy not leaving me much time for practicing, but I need to buckle down and get at it. What distance are you shooting from?
That elk looks like it’s in one heck of a spot to pack out.
My archery distances I’m practicing are 5-35 yards. I’m planning to limit my shots on a deer to 25 yards. This will be my first year bow hunting.
The elk was across a steep draw from me about 150 yards away. She slid down quite a ways and we had to tie her to a tree so she wouldn’t slide to the bottom. There was a gravel spur road about 100 yards from where she laid. It was steep and thick but not very far.
Buck was 50 yards off of a gated gravel road I was walking up, last afternoon of the season. I was headed up to a clearing at the top to watch for the evening and there he was looking at me.
Both taken with a .308 AR10. I decided I didn’t like picking that thing through the woods so I picked up a Howa .308 last winter.
Got out again today, 58* and no wind! My poor boys were dieing from the heat but they worked hard and found us some birds on state land this afternoon. Little guy Odie DID AMAZING today, started to "hunt" on his own instead of following his dad Jag around the fields. Found three pheasants and one chucker all by himself, my son Mike dropped his first **** bird, plus a second male one hen and two chuckers!
I couldn't imagine a more perfect day to be alive out enjoying time with my son and two dogs and even spent quality time with my father
First year bow hunting. Last day of the season. I got skunked on deer and elk this year but I stuck with it and finally had success!

Great, great pics. I love to see any hunting dogs work. You are blessed.
THANK YOU

Nice trophy. I've killed many birds with shotgun but never with a bow. Two year old?
Didn’t check the age, don’t even know how. This was my first ever turkey and my first bow kill. I just started bow hunting this year and struck out on deer/elk this fall.
