I've caught the same trout twice in 20 minutes, had the same scar from being almost caught by a osprey............He didn't get a third chance.
Years ago while trolling for Striper on Lake Texoma, I hooked a small one. While reeling it in I thought I had foul hooked it because of the type of resistance in the line.
When I got the catch to the boat we found that the small Striper hit the lure then a bigger one hit him. Took in over a third off the body and locked his mouth down on the smaller fish.
In the evening, that same day, we were casting 7" pencil lures into surfacing/schooling Stripers and I caught two fish at the same time. One on the front hooks and one on the back. That was fun boating those suckers.

That happens a lot with Northern Pike.
I had one jump into the boat chasing a lure I had just pulled out of the water this spring.

I had a pike eat my minnow and follow my empty hook to the boat, so I threw the empty hook back out quick. The pike hit the jig 3 more times with no bait, lmao

I had a osprey come down and grab a 12" rainbow I was bringing in, had both trout and osprey on for several seconds.............as he gained altitude, my line gave out and broke.
Somewhere in the top of a 120ft fir tree is my $3.75 Kastmaster lure.
Lost over $100 worth of dodgers, divers and other fishing equipment to sharks while salmon fishing, had a sea lion try to crawl into the back of the boat while crabbing. Have lost a lot of gear to seals and sea lions as well.
Dave, I found a green split bodied lure and a 6 bladed Ford Fender under a tree on Rodley Butte while elk hunting about 4 miles as the bird flies from Diamond Lake..............loose any there? (There was an eagle's nest high up in the tree.)
