Fuel drainage at filter change

Well I did my oil and fuel filters today. I did find that with the tank less than 1/4
I did not take a bath in diesel. The last time I changed it I took a bath. So I guess
the next one I'll make sure that the tank is low again.

This was also the first time I have ever gotten any water from the drain. Less
than a tablespoon.

I have also found that when I have 1/2 tank or less it doesn't make as much of a mess.

I wear my Grubby clothes when changing the frame filter and leave them outside to air out for a while! I like changing that filter with drivers side on the curb of the street.

Or if you have a steeper driveway,
park nose up.

In the past I most likely had a full tank. This time I made sure it under
1/4 and no draining happened like the last time.
So for the ones that have had the ever draining problem when doing the
filter change I think this will be your answer.

I tried the drivers side up and then made a aluminum foil culvert for the fuel to flow into.

Still got a bath -- I'm putting in the updated drain plug this next change but it won't help until the following change.

I love the smell of diesel, don't you? Isn't their an aftershave called diesel? Wonder what it smells like

Yea, same here. Someway, somehow, I always end up taking a bath in B11...

Last time the wife made a HUGE mistake and washed a load of clothes with my "filter changing clothes". Nothing more sexy than a diesel smelling pair of women's underwear

I digress...lol

I just take my truck to work and put it on the hoist at the end of the day to change it. You get a little bit of fuel but not bad. Then again like everyday I go home with oil and fuel all over me anyway!
