Wrench displayed
While pulling hard but no fan noise to indicate high temp a wrench suddenly appeared, power backed off (this while I was passing a truck) have checked for any pid displays but there are none.
Stopped and after restart it ran good.
Any one have info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the codes. It could be nothing or you may be in the $$$ zone. Can't tell the player without the scorecard.
You also need a Scangauge II to know what's happening under the hood while it's happening.

It is always helpful to post the year of your vehicle and any other helpful info (like mods or recent work done).
Common wrench light causes:
oil cooler efficiency (oil cooler clogging up) - not sure if your 2004 would get this one though .
Over boost
low system vloltage
there are a couple of others
There will be (or should be) a DTC stored with this, but many code readers can not pull it. Take it in to get the codes read or monitor your system as mentioned above.
