Wrench light comes on but no codes

Gentilemen,

today on the way home after about 45 min drive my wrench light came on but when I checked for codes on my sct I get no codes. Is that weird or common? Has this happened to anybody else?

thanks

My SGII won't pull codes for a wrench light. Usually had to go to Auto zone to have them read.

Not sure how good the SCT is.

Download FORScan and get yourself a Bluetooth or WiFi obdII connector. The FORScan is great at identifying codes and providing feedback on probable issues regarding each code. Between the two items you'll be set back about $20, but you'll have a good idea at what you need to look at.

I do not know for certain from experience, but I have read numerous posts of the SG not reading codes very well or if at all depending the situation.

I have no experience with the SCT as a code reader so can't help you there. I second ForScan as a code reader though, does well and will tell you which code set the lamp. I use the DTC count on the Scangauge to occasionally look for any soft DTCs.

Had that happen on my 05 when I had her. On mine it was always the turbo starting to get lazy. Get a code reader to be certain however. My 05 couldn't get it's fill of turbos. Other than that she was rock solid.

Thanks everyone, my SCT has read codes before that's why I was surprised not to see any. Im waiting for my obd blue tooth connector to come in. As soon as it does will get forscan.

Had the same light come on 2 different times coming down from Alaska last summer. Once right after the Canadian border and one more in Montana. I didn't get a code either time and the light went away both times after a couple minuets. The truck ran fine wile the light was on, still don't know what the deal was. curious to find out what your is...
