Well, to be fair, this is an uncommon failure mode for a U-joint. But it does happen, and once you have seen it you will never forget it.

I do agree with you but what really made me mad about it was he removes both of my axle shafts to replace my ball joints for me a few weeks prior and i told him it was still doing it and to check the u joints. Now I can only assume he didn't check them but the u-joint could have been fine or seemed fine at the time. Also i just posted this in wizkid's thread but he only put 1/2 qt of oil in my dads Ram and my dad noticed a ticking sound so i checked it to find it super low. We don't know if its burning oil or not yet because he mentioned that he thought he saw blue smoke when he started it the other day but still.
