Looking for a bit of advice. Had my 04 King Ranch into a local shop for a bad oil leak. It was pronounced a turbo line leak. The mechanic says appx $700 and two days.
Questions are. It that reasonable? Sounds it to me, but thought I'd check. Also, is there anything else I should have the mechanic do while he is in that far. I realize that is not in there that far, but want to get the most out of having the turbo out.
Last time I asked it was $$400.00 here to remove and install turbo Only
If its the turbo Oil Supply thats Easy no turbo removal rquired
But if its the Turbo Drain leaking the turbo needs to come out
IIRC its around $120.00 for the New updated Solid turbo Supply line but its been a year or so since I looked up the price so it might be even cheaper now IDK
I suppose it could leak oil out the VGT Valve to this could be fixed with turbo inplace
Unfortunately I don't remember which one he said was leaking. But if he were planning on replacing supply and return, which I would want anyway, and the charge was about $700 that seems reasonable. $400 removal, $110 for the one line and say another $100 for the other?
It i do take it there, I will clarify what will be done first.
I realize I could probably do this myself, but I have limited time due to my job.
