Why do you drive a super duty?
New member, I've been lurking on here for a bit. my next truck will be a ford haven't decided gas f-250 or f-150 yet. As much as I really like the super duty, when I worked on a farm for a couple summers I had an 01 7.3 diesel as a work truck and have wanted one ever since. The mileage on from the 6.2 v8 is a bit of a turn off. I get 14-15 right now in my 06 tundra crew cab. The biggest thing I have to tow is a 10ft box trailer. What are you guys using your super duties for?

Mine originally was for a landscaping business I had going. Decided I wasn't makin the money I wanted due to so many large landscaping companies and cut out before I lost money. Now I tow anything and everything from my Bronco, drag cars for a few buddies, boats, and scrap metal. Love my V10

We bought ours mainly to pull our camper. I farm, so besides the camper it pulls water tanks, a goose neck tilt back implement trailer, grain wagons during harvest along with anything else that needs hauled or towed.
The reason we went with a Super Duty is because they're fully equipped to pull anything the truck is capable of pulling. I've been through the whole deal of adding engine cooling capacity both coolant and oil, adding weight carrying capacity, brake conrtrollers and on and on. The Super Duty has all of that from the factory.
Plus, and this is a big plus, we have a 1983 F-250 XL, 351 4X4, 4 speed manual, regular cab with 38,000 actual miles on the clock. It is rust free and in nearly perfect condition and 100% original except for an engine oil cooler and tires. It had been a working truck until we bought the '09 SD. I was/is so **** about the truck no one wanted to get near it or me, especially when we were together.
So we needed to get a truck that I could use without being 1/2 insane about keeping it spotless and undamaged. My wife is much happier now that she doesn't have to be around the '83 and me at the same time.

bought my first super duty (reg cab long box 5.4) because i wanted a newer truck with a solid front axle to handle off-road abuse, and a dodge didn't appeal to me.. so it fit the bill perfect. then i wound up with a race trailer and a carseat on the way, so the truck in my sig took its place since i loved everything about the super duty platform.

Because whenever i can i buy american made, and when i make an investiment this big i like to buy the best of the best. Hence why i own a 2003 F350, and before a 2003 F250. Ford are the best trucks you can buy. You arent going to have a clue why you owned a toyota once you drive a ford

I posted earlier, but I'll give more .02
I bought my SD because I wanted a big, heavy, safe, badass truck, and the straight axles that are under these trucks are pretty much bulletproof. My girlfriend has a 1/2 ton Ram and that thing is basically a big car. You can't hear the engine, it rides like a sponge, the steering sucks, and it sits so freaking low to the ground. My truck is lifted now, but even when it was stock height I still had to step up to get into it... I like that. And yeah, gas mileage ain't gonna be so good in these monsters... especially with a gas motor.

I'll add a bit, too. I bought mine mainly for reliability and with over 300k miles on it at time of purchase I had zero thought she'd ever let me down. So far she has been true to her 7.3 legendary word. And she is bad *** both on and off the road, very solid.
Now I'm into more power and racing the diesel truck. My next 7.3 diesel will turn out like this, but faster..
now back to your regularly scheduled program...
