(01 V10, 182K) Weekly commutes of 150 miles in all weather conditions (when snowstorms close the highways, I take the back roads.) Towing my 32' bumper-pull travel trailer, W-W/O my four wheeler in the back. Hunting. Firewood. helping friends move (and hauling anything that will fit in the box.) Towing my Buddies' Chevys to the repair shop.

Here is the story...

It's December 2006 and snowing like crazy. My 2004 F150 4x4 is buried in three feet of snow and as I promptly get myself stuck. Four wheel drive engaged, but only one wheel is trying to get traction while the others do nothing. Along comes my neighbor in his lifted Chevy truck and pulls me out. At that moment, I swore I'd never be pulled out of the snow again by anything, let alone a Chevy. About a week later I traded the F150 in on my 2007 F250. I then put larger tires on so I would be ready for the next big snow. A week later, bam!, another snow storm. I was thrilled that my new truck was able to easily pack the snow down and go anywhere I wanted to go. The one time I got stuck, I simply locked in the front hubs and pulled right out -- no help from the Chevy. I still have the same truck, but its grown much larger and meaner over the years!

My only regret was not getting the Lariat...the XLT back in 2003 was pretty skimpy. I thought I was gonnah get caught in the last round of lay offs. So I'm prepping for pulling a 5'vr and go contracting nuke plants working refuel outages. Did not get laid off but pulled a 5'vr, tractors, chebbies with rv attached and lots of console room for the yorkie to stretch out since the wife's 150 Lariat is so small plus the comfort of driving 70+ just cruises so well and long trips are very comfy...

and LIFE IS TOO SHORT to skimp on some things....now looking at a 6.2 but gottah be the F-250......tired of high maint. on my faithful 7.3 only got 170k runs great good for another 10 years......so if you like them get one that appeals to your taste do not justify it on mpgs but on your life style and just enjoy....

Throughout college I bought and sold a lot of cars. A few Mustangs, Camaros and some Jeeps (I lived at home and worked through school). They were all great, but I wanted a toy that I could drive everyday and enjoy in the Michigan winter. Now that I work for Ford, my SD was a no brainer. Probably didn't need the V10 since I have an hour drive to work, but insurance is pretty cheap and the parts aren't too bad either.

Love having a 4x4 3/4 ton.

MC45 - After seeing that - I may have to go to a chevy so I have a reason to turn that down. I can't run that fast anymore.

I will only drive ford trucks. Anything else feels like a car to me. When you drive a super duty you feel like your in a truck.

Redford,

Me too, but my ramps for my four-wheeler wouldn't be long enough.

That is so true, I am older than most and being in a truck although we want the modern luxuries (MFT, leather, bangin stereo, crew cab, etc) I do want the feel of a truck,, not a car like soft truck..I guess it is what I have grown up on and the Super Duty is the best looking 3/4 ton on the road today..I like sitting up high so I can see over the crowd,, nothing more frustrating than losing visability behind other cars..

I had a Hyundai 2 door hatchback Accent. It got totalled in a rear end collision by a dodge neon. a DODGE NEON. You know how mad a guy gets when you get totalled by a dodge neon?....So they give me a rental and i went strait to Ford since I allready had/have an 84 E-350 with a 460ci. The rental they gave me was a.....DODGE NEON!! drove it to the dealership and bought the biggest thing on the lot. A (used) 01 F-350....V10...four door...dually....8ft bed...4x4.
.....next time some goofball decides not to hit the brakes and hit me at 45mph I'm gonna drive away....
