I searched but couldn't find any threads where someone added roof lights. I like em and what to put em on my dent, is there a template or somethin to go off of before I start to drill holes?
Haha nice work HIO! I gotta start looking stuff up more instead of asking cuz ur on top of everyone who asks for a quick answer with no research themself

I think the problem is that FTE'ers just use the search box above. Don;t use the search box..... Always use the search drop-down and "Advanced Search" because it allows you to search specific forums. Otherwise, it searches all of FTE from day one and returns an overwhelming number of pages making it seem useless. Try it.
Key words are very important. As you can see above, sometimes its roof lights, cab lights, or even marker lights.
Not that it's a big deal, but I have always liked an evenly spaced look for the cab lights rather than the 1-3-1 pattern from factory. You could always just throw down some tape across the front of the roof, set your lights down and see what you like best. When you find out where you want, trace around the lights and screw holes and start drilling. The toughest part is going to be fishing the wires up there, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Thank you kind sir, I stand before you with hat in hand and a shamed look on my face I used the search box but from now on will use the advanced search. Thanks again and I have always been partial to the 1-3-1 set up. I grew up a kid in the trucker fad of the 70's-80's and just love all the trucker stuff on pickups. Just got me a NOS pair of deputy dawg mud flaps for my f 100

You're welcome. There is no shame in learning... but the other side of that is actually doing it. Go forth!
I installed my NOS lights to match exactly to the original factory pattern. I pretty much guessed the measurements based on old photos I had of my first and second trucks and there is a pre drilled hole on the inside of the cab on the center roof support. Use that as your guide. Here's my photos with measurements.
I too want to do the cab lights. I like the evenly spaced configuration. Long way off, a lot of other projects first.

Reason: PS, Thanks HIO, I did not know about the drop down search box either. So much nicer than sifting thru every dern post since t
If ya like the trucker look.....consider 7 evenly spaced lights.........pretty popular mod on some of the chrome warriors out on the big road anymore.......I personally like the look of 7.......
That picture really should be in the signature part of your profile. Can we even use picture signatures around here? Fortunately, many of us are old enough around here to get the reference too.
