I am looking to put cab roof lights on my 77 F150 custom Explorer. I am looking to keep that stock original look, and am NOT interested in LED lights for this application.
I am looking for a black base, amber lense tear drop shape, more like what was used on 1976 year models and before. If anyone knows of a source, it would be appreciated. I like the original old school look, and don't mind paying for quality.
You help, thoughts, and impute is greatly appreiciated!!
harbor freight has the lights your talking about for $9.99 I went in there to get a 6 inch drop draw bar and found the lights I don't see them on the web site but our local HF has them I put em' on my 79 and they look and work great. old school tear drop dark amber lens with black bases just like what you are looking for here is a pic of them on my truck.
I meant $9.99 for a set of 5 lights, wiring, and an optional switch but I just ran mine to my park light wire on my headlight switch. it's real easy you can come right down the a pillar and out to the switch

Did u guys just drill 5 small holes in the roof for the wiring? did u need to remove the headliner for this? let me know please fellas thanks 79 ford f150
I doubt these guys will answer you this thread is about 2 years old. You will have to drill small holes. I would seem to think it would be a good idea to remove your headliner.

I too am interested in this look on my truck simply because it's a lariat. I want that lariat cab look with the lights on top, but it doesn't currently have them.
How does the wiring work? I've never heard or seen anyone do this.
Does it just hook up under the headliner in the cab and run down the inside of the cab?
its been forever since i pulled my headliner, but there are five small holes drilled for the wires. the P.O. put rubber grommets on each hole. then the single wire runs down the A-pillar and out behind the dash where it picks up power from the parking lamp wire...
