I have been thinking about getting roof clearance lights for a few weeks now. What kits are avaiable for these trucks and what is the level of difficulty for installation. If anybody has a picture of a ford with some on it, id really appreciate it.
theres some words misspelled but im too stupid use spell check
I saw a kit at Pep Boys today for $24.95 that included 5 lights, wiring and a red lighted toggle switch. I have lights on my truck, but they don't work. The PO said there is a button under the dash to turn them off/on, but I have yet to find it.
I have installed them on a few trucks I prefer to attatch them to the parking light circuit though like they would be fromthe factory installation is easy I always eye ball where they go line up the middle with the center raised part ofthehood and then the 2 outside ones then just center the other two they mountwith 2 screws andyou also need to drill a holeforthe wiretopoke through
I personally like the ones Mil1ion has but spread out evenly. That's how I like to set them up. How ever you decide to do it, cab lights really look classy on an old Ford. I've seen all kinds of different styles on old Fords and they always seem to look better than without cab lights.
Thanks for all the input.I am going to order them tomorrow, now that I know that its easier than it seems.Hopefully I can get some pictures of my old clunker next week, with the clearnce lights sitting up top.
Wiring and installing is a snap BUT the wiring gets run through the drivers door post. Its easy if you use a stiff wire with a small "shepherds hook" and fish it from the top to in front of the access hole above the dimmer switch.
I have tear drop shaped, amber lights on mine, all spaced evenly and now......waterproof!! (Silicone is a wonderful thing).Got em wired into the park lights. Found them at a local autoparts store thats now defunct. Remember Al's Auto Supply???
I like to run the cab lights off their own "marker light switch" like in the big rigs, along with any other highway legal auxilaries. But that's just me.
