Orange Lights On Roof?

What are these called? I can't seem to find any of them and thought they would be on ebay. Any thoughts?

Remove the headliner undo the 2 nuts on each one, pull out the connector and remove the light.

The harness is more tedious to remove up thru the A-pillar

So the harness will come out inside? I have the cab totally disassembled anyway.

Yes, it gets pulled up the pillar.

Sometimes a connector catches on something so .....gentle tugs.

Cab lights. Bought an oem set new from autobarn via ebay or $58.95 including shipping to Canada. I forget the company that produced the lights, the box was blue and yellow. I didn't use the supplied connectors, they'll rust out easily and won't work. I just wrapped the wires together, covered the bare wires with electical tape. I also didn't use the supply switch or indicator. My cab lights go on when I turn on my headlights.

The OEM lights are still available from Ford. they used the same ones until the 90s.....the wiring harness is what I considered valuable to the collectors. It took alot of junkyard trips for me to find one...Evan

I have always called them clearance lights. Factory originals can be hard to come by but they are fairly cheap and easy to find in the after market. As far as installation if you have a test light some butt conectors and a crimper its a piece of cake.

Sky clearance ?

There are several terms used for all sorts of things.

For me, clearance lights are those along the side of trailer so when you are driving by something at night you can see how much clearance you have to the side of the trailer so as to not rub up against something.

Same goes for the deck or bed of a 10-wheeler.

What are you talking about milton? Are you just bored? I was a diesel and heavy truck mechanic for over 10 years I know what clearance lights are. As I said where I come from they are called clearance lights. Also where I come from people who put extrainiuos lights on their trucks are called chicken haulers. There is no real reason to have those lights on a ford pick-up other than for astetics. Or safety as some claim.
