I have a 1977 F250. It goes into the body shop tomorrow to complete it frame off restoration. Anyways, I am wondering which clearance lights it should have, and what the spacing it is. I want the stock appearance for this part of the truck. Thanks for the help.
Lights from 73 to at least 86 will do it.Also if you can't figure out the spacing.Go to a local yard with a long piece of cardboard.Unscrew the light on a trk and then punch out the proper spacing for the holes.Little bit of work, but it's a nice template to hold onto and in the end a lot faster than trying to eye all five properly.Just make sure you have a common reference point to line up on both trks.
There is a picture of the clearance lights in my gallery. I think it has the older style lights, chrome rather than plastic and they are taller. It will give you some idea of spacing, though it is not a closeup picture. If you are interested I can measure the distance And take a closeup.
I'm still trying to find my posts that have the installation instructions on how I installed mine.
It involved string, measuring tape, a black marker, drill, and the drip rail moldings.
It would be really helpful if someone, that has a truck that came with stock clearance lights, would measure the center-to-center distances between them, and the distance back from the front roof edge, and post it in the 'helpful hints' section. I have thought about adding them to mine, as well.
You guys are killing me so bad that I had to finally go outside with a tape measure and a camera. Measurements were pulled from the drip rail, and the aft section of the cab, right at the rubber for the rear window.
