SCT tuner UPDATED and now it wont work.

I purchased an SCT SF3 Tuner about 2 months ago, ran the tunes on my 04 F350 SRW and everything worked fine, until last night. I updated the tuner using the software that came with it and it updated correctly online. Now when i try to install the strategy tune on my truck it says ECU incompatible and has the codes: VXBC7A3 TQAU0Q2

If anyone can please help!!!

You can chat online with SCT and go through it. If you have wireless just tote your laptop out to the truck with you. If I remember correctly Eric from Innovative told me not to do any updates from SCT. Let the Tuner guys figure out what you need. I think if they set a tune up without the latest stuff, then you install the latest stuff, you're tunes won't work. I'm trying to remember back. But whoever did your tunes should be able to help as well.

P.S. If you're running SCT canned tunes they're ok, but step up the custom tunes. You'll see huge differences. I had goofy things happening with the canned tunes off my livewire. The tranny only tune for instance doesn't let me go past 10% throttle without shutting my truck down. My custom tunes fixed everything. Innovative, gearhead, Truck Source, Loony, whoever you want to use. I've heard they're all good.

Thanks Guys. I contacted SCT but they are closed until monday morning. i sent them an emergency message but it said they only respond to those during normal business hours. i hope the rest of the customer service is different.

P.S. i will never update them again and i have looked into some custom tunes but i cant see spending 50-100 dollars each time i want to change something does anyone have anything i can try?

Does anyone have any custom or any kind of tunes for 2004 F350 6.0 Manual with 4wheel drive?

i have no power and no throttle response, as this is my daily driver i have issues with driving back and forth to work not being able to go over 55 60 mph?

If anyone can please help i will be very grateful..

Custom tunes aint gonna help that, you have many more problems in your hands. Start your own thread in the 6.0L section with more details so guys can help you out

Um, let me know if you move to the 6.0 forum. So you can't run in stock mode or canned tune since the update? Did you save your stock tune to your PC? This problem ONLY started after your update? Please answer every question. As far as the money for tunes, you get 3 tunes from innovative for about 150 (don't hold me to that, prices change)Custom tunes aren't just about power, they're about having something unique to you and being safer for injectors and stock head bolts if you still have them. I can only speak for Innovative as that's all I've ever tried. I wanted my X street file to be a little more linear than the first file he sent me and had a couple of little tranny adjustments I wanted to make. Eric sent me 3 X street tunes at no additional charge to get it where I really liked it. I've heard the others will do the same for you. Food for thought.

I did move over to the 6.0 page, My truck is in stock mode now, but i dont have the power i had before the SCT. I did save the stock file to my PC and yes it started last night after the update to SCT. I tried to install the strategy tune and it wouldn't let me. I am at a loss here. The prices for innovative arent bad if you get all that. At this point i just want my truck back..lol

Oh, it won't have the power before the tunes as you and all of us know. But at least you can still drive it; that's good. If you research around here you'll find some posts explaining what most likely happened which is sort of what I posted earlier about the updates. I'm sure you'll get it straightened out but as said before it was recommended to me NOT to install SCT updates after your tunes are loaded. I'll see what others have to say in the 6 oh area. And I've had good luck with innovative, however I'm not solely pushing them. I've hear Matt, Vivian, or Chris will give you the same awesome service as Eric. Those are the top 4 I've seen around here.
