SCTX3 Tuner HELP
Fellas,
Quick question. I just bought a SCT X3 tuner. What are the "srategy tunes" that are already on the tuner? Are these preloaded tunes..? Can someone please explain what this is...? Also, are you limited to how many different trucks you can hook it up to? Me and the buddies have been tinkering with it while waiting on my custom tunes. I don't want to permanently lock this thing. I am not real familar with this thing yet and can't find too much info. I am tying to understand the full functionality of the tuner. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like you got some canned tunes. There just tunes that come with it. Never had em but there's no way they'll be better than your custom tunes. Your tuner has I think three or four unlocks. Once you pull the stratgey off your truck the tuner is only good for that truck. What and where did you get your tunes?

I am getting the tunes from Jody @ Dptuner. What is it mean to get the "strategy" off my truck? This is what we done so far:
WHile waiting on the custom tunes, we took the tuner out of the box and hooked it up to my buddies truck (NOT THE TRUCK THE CUSTOM TUNES ARE FOR). All we did was tinker with it and tried to upload a tune....not real sure what we did. Anyway, when trying to upload a tune the tuner to read all the truck's info. Have I screwed up here? Will it be locked for my truck? I have to do a little work on my truck before before I can flash it.....have I screwed up anything with the tuner? Thanks

On second thought. Do you have the X3? Model 3000? The SF3 has pre-programmed tunes...the X-3 does not. If there are tunes on there, then they are custom tunes and I would not use them. You don't know what strategy code they were written for. Delete any unknown custom tunes.

The guy who writes your custom tunes needs your strategy, give em that and he should give you the tunes for your truck and not your buddies. You haven't screwed it up just lost one of your unlocks if you loaded one of the tunes on your buddies truck. In that case I would charge him 60 bucks.

you can read strategy and codes for your buddies ,, but just don't load tunes to theirs or you loose an unlock and won't be able to use it on yours ,, each unlock is a 20$ I personally think it is a gay policy ,, I can see not using it on multiple trucks at 1 time but f that 5 vehicle ever crud ,, it should be printed on the package
