I know about the trick of getting the truck real warm first... I usually warm it up running around and then run the 15 minutes up the highway to the test station.
I'd run about 2 tanks through it if it's that old before you test again.
Once you get the codes, and make some repairs, you should be fine.
I have another trick that works too, I'll pm you with when we get closer, kinda not ethical, but works.....( I learned from Don, Just get-r-done)

Shows you how much attention I've been paying.

Got my camper winterized. It has a winterization valve on it. Pretty cool. Just stick the hose in the RV anti-freeze bottle, turn on the water pump, and when you have pink stuff coming out of all of the orifices, turn the pump off. Took longer to drain the water tank than it did to fill the lines with anti-freeze.

Pat, ya got to love all those out of staters moving in for a "change in life style" and passing laws to make it just like where they came from. Why move to start with?

There are only a couple localized areas in the state where DEQ testing is required. Tiny lives in the Portland Metro area.

Of course, they also tell you when you can use your wood heat to keep your house warm. So if a wood or pellet stove is all you have, you better buy a space heater!
Becau8se we should be just like them, because they know better! Idiots.

Hydrocarbons way high means the system is running rich. Computer is probably trying to compensate for something
Is the check engine light on now?

How fresh is your gas.
Gas now has a pot life of 30 days. After 30 days it starts to turn into crap that won't burn. Your problem may be as simple as running a few tanks of fresh gas through the truck, and changing the filter
Or an o2 sensor going south. I would think that would throw a CEL, but I've seen it before where it didn't.

Good afternoon everyone. Got some stuff accomplished outside around the house today. Ended up being a shirt sleeve work day outside. They claim it got up to 50!

Now I'm off to check up on the folks out at the farm and feed horses.

I did very little today, enjoyed the sunshine, fired one of my .380s at tin cans from the patio, played with dogs.........BTW, our female yellow lab we rescued back in Oct., is dumb as a stump compared to our male black lab, he is capable of complex problem solving, apparently understands english better than some humans, can tell time, recognize the sounds of important vehicles coming up the road and alerts us, helps carry firewood, etc.
The female is fascinated by shiny objects and loud noises................she really is a dumb blonde.

Evening Dave. Harley and I removed a ton of mill parts from the hot tank today, and put the base in for tonight. Couple more large parts and we can start reassembly!

I sure like having my own hot tank.........

Must be a pretty big tank to fit that base in.

Evening gang.

Enjoyed lunch with my parents at church.

Got the camper winterized. Leaves raked, dog poo picked up and the lawn mowed.

^^^No.......Cottage Grove^^^

She has got to be the dumbest Lab we have ever had, I think she might be the canine equivalent of "special needs".
Every Lab we have ever had was smart as a whip, not this one.
At least she is sweet and gentle like all Labs

You do know they have or had a Mercury problem around Cottage Grove...................
It could just be a matter of upbringing and training. How old is she and was she physically abused? Could be she was just never made to think or played with enough to develop those traits.

The only problem I had with a pure blood lab was the last one I had. She was smarter than I was so things didn't always go the way I thought they should. Could this be a contributing factor in this case?

She's 3 yrs old, very little human contact, lived in a 8x8 concrete run with only a doghouse with no blanket or straw, fed 1 cup of cheap wal-mart dry food a day.

But if she is the usual Lab smart............she ain't showin' it!

I probably see more dogs in the course of a year than almost anyone else on this forum, and I have an observation.

I find that dogs are just like humans in one respect:
There is a bell-shaped curve regarding their intelligence.

Sweetness sometimes more than makes up for intelligence.

What is it that you expect of a dog?

Sounds like she was never given a chance. A couple of years down the road with some TLC in interaction with your other lab, she may surprise you. Otherwise, you still have a very nice hearth ornament!

The mix lab I have now appears to be a good gun dog, but beyond that seems to lack none of the traits. Popped the AR off at some Coyotes right over the top of his head and he was so intent on watching the coyotes that I'm not sure he even realized the rifle had been shot.
Can't get him to fetch. Throw tennis ***** for him and he may or may not run out, sniff them then come back without them. What is funny, is after I go into the house, he digs a hole and gathers every tennis ball up and puts them into the hole. Doesn't cover them up, but he does gather them up as long as you aren't watching.
