Janet too, and when I was paving at night around near home, she would show up about 9 pm with a nice snack for me!!!!
Sometimes when I was out on the Cat for 12 hours seeding, etc, Melody would go to town and bring a nice chocolate shake to me in the field! What a gal!

Morning Jim! Sorry Don, but Connie does enough around the house, takes care of the kids, and works 40 hours a week (making more than me, except for the last two years), that I wouldn't ask her to get up that early just for my dumb ***!LOL
Clear and cold here with glorious sunshine everywhere.
I got invited to church with my parents today... they are having their annual thanksgiving potluck.
I've got yard work, camper winterizing and truck stuff to do this afternoon.

Ok gang I need some serious help. I've got a '90 F150 that needs to be tuned up. It wouldn't pass DEQ(clean air emissions test) and I need to get in fixed for my son.
I plan to change the spark plugs, wires cap and rotor for starters. I also need to replace the valve cover gaskets since they are leaking. I'm going to change the oil and filter too.
The test showed the hydrocarbons were way high... I'm thinking it is a sensor or something along those lines. Charlie, you mentioned being able to run a test of the system with a series of flashing lights that tells you the code. I need some serious help in this area. I'm planning on working on the truck next weekend and getting all of the parts lined up and ready to go.
The warden is the boss of the kitchen. Example, for dinner yesterday she told me the ham bone was in the refer, the beans were in the bucket under the counter and the slow cooker was in the utility/mud room....................

Good morning Tiny. Can't help you with the emissions testing. Wouldn't even know where to start. The only thing I know about the hydrocarbons from a vehicle is what the NUVI tells me if I should push the little green leaf. For some reason I was thinking pickups were exempt from that. Shows you how much attention I've been paying.
Got my camper winterized. It has a winterization valve on it. Pretty cool. Just stick the hose in the RV anti-freeze bottle, turn on the water pump, and when you have pink stuff coming out of all of the orifices, turn the pump off. Took longer to drain the water tank than it did to fill the lines with anti-freeze.
Pat, ya got to love all those out of staters moving in for a "change in life style" and passing laws to make it just like where they came from. Why move to start with?
There are only a couple localized areas in the state where DEQ testing is required. Tiny lives in the Portland Metro area.
Of course, they also tell you when you can use your wood heat to keep your house warm. So if a wood or pellet stove is all you have, you better buy a space heater!

No problem. Later today I'll get a picture of what you have to do with the test plug to get the check engine light to give you the codes
Hydrocarbons way high means the system is running rich. Computer is probably trying to compensate for something
Is the check engine light on now?
How fresh is your gas.
Gas now has a pot life of 30 days. After 30 days it starts to turn into crap that won't burn. Your problem may be as simple as running a few tanks of fresh gas through the truck, and changing the filter
Run it up on the freeway , get everything warmed up and blown out before testing. If your in a big line turn the vehicle off, idling for long periods can cause failures.
Thanks for the info guys... Keep the suggestions coming.
The fuel is waaaayyyyyy older than 30 says. He'll the license expired over a year ago. I'll get some fuel treatment and top off the tank... It's probably below 1/4.
I know about the trick of getting the truck real warm first... I usually warm it up running around and then run the 15 minutes up the highway to the test station.
