Belated good evening all. Just got back from the farm a few minutes ago.
Folks called and are having a great time. Custer Monument, Crazy Horse, several museums, Mt. Rushmore and letting me know they are going to be staying two or three days longer than planned. Too much to see so they need the extra time.
Let 'em do as much as they can, for as long as they can.
Picked my 98-year-old mother up at Delta at LAX today. She came in from Minnesota after spending the last two months at her place there. She was the oldest at her all-school reunion last month, and a lot of local historian-types picked her still-sharp brain for hours.
My three siblings and I let her do what she wants, and facilitate what might otherwise be a bit difficult for her.
My mother and one other is all that is left for her class and "all school" reunion so they just meet for coffee several times a year and don't have any formal reunion.
My sister is driving them. Said she didn't know how she was going to handle the extra time they were going to spend. Told her to figure it out or else start hitch hiking for home and let me know so I can fly out there and bring them home when they are ready!
Morning guys! Just a quick visit this morning. I've got a crane to go fix this morning. Hoping to complete the whole thing today so I don't have to go tomorrow too......
Hope to have the lathe wired up and running this weekend!
Yeah, and that's what I was afraid of, if I didn't take it off! I'm also going to remove part of the boxed in section, where the doors attach, and clean and coat that area also.
Yeah, that would have been nice! This has just been a TON of work! But, I'm not going to put this thing together, only to have it rust through the new paint in a year or two!!
Well, you have to figure, all of these trucks probably have some rust in the cowls, and behind the panels that go around the back windows, since Ford didn't put any paint there. The bodies didn't get dipped like they do these days.
