Well the rain finally started here. Time to see if the truck is waterproof. Wish I could be driving this weekend, still don't have a license until November.
You will probably find that as long as you leave the windows closed, Ford Trucks can handle the rain.
Driving anymore ain't all what it is cracked up to be. It is a necessary evil to get you from where you are to where you want to be or need to be. See, there's the first distractor already - "need to be". Then there is the insurance expense, the fuel expense, the maintenance expense - oil, tires, wheels, air filters, spark plugs, chrome tool boxes and the list goes on - gets pretty darn expensive......................................
(Have I talked you into giving me your pickup yet?)
I don't even need to be anywhere, I just love the feeling of driving the truck. And those expenses are what keep me sitting at my desk 40 hours a week. So those weekends I can do what I love
(And I don't think this truck will ever leave my possession after this
I can't drive either so currently my gf has to do the driving. But seeing as she can barely drive a manual I have to do the shifting while she works the pedals. It is an interesting setup.
Heading back up to Odell Lake tomorrow morning early to pick more huckleberries.
Stupid fly fisherman... all of the small lakes near Odell are fly only. I don't want to drag my boat along but was thinking that if the berry picking goes well I could throw a rooster tail for trout. Odell just doesn't seem like it would be very good for anything but Koaknee. Maybe my wife will buy that I just left my fishing stuff at home to "spend quality time with the family"?
Odell is primarily a Lake Trout - trolling or Koke (trolling or jigging). You certainly want to stay on the West end in the afternoon. Force 21 seas on the east end in the afternoon. There is some rainbow fishing in the area of the locomotive. Can't give away too many secrets or Dave will hunt me down and use me for fish bait!
Just back from the shop for a quick bite. Should have the hot tank up and running this afternoon! WoooHooo! Time to start getting the lathe parts done!
Threw together a little album of today and yesterday's work. New stereo is amazing, bluetooth + pandora is the greatest thing ever. Fixed the bumper so the hitch fits. Choke is messed up but that is another project.
O.K. I can't resist being a Smart *#s! What kind of a redneck bumper jack you using in that one pic?
BTW, that black tool box really does not look that bad with that bright deep red color.
That would be a 5 gallon bucket, topped with a 2 gallon soap bucket, with some shims on top to even it out. Breaking out the jack seemed like too much work so I just threw this together.
Evening Gentleman! I'm a happy camper tonight. The new renters gave me a check and moved in today! One more quick clean/ repaint, and another will be ready to rent. I'm on a roll, something will hit the fan.............lol
