2013 Knee-deep BS thread!
Got to going on the Tansy and fence row spraying and then had to quit and take mother to the hospital. She was watering some flowers up at the farm house and somehow, tripped over the hose. Instead of calling my dad and I on my cell phone, she hiked about a 1/2 mile out to where we were spraying. When I saw her standing on the side of the hill, I could see she was hurt, bleeding and all was not right so I went charging across the creek, not really forgetting, but not really thinking that the down steam neighbor had closed the dam off last week. I will have to admit the unplanned swim was quite cooling and refreshing.
Dad took the tractor up the "summer" run secondary creek, but not far enough and got the tractor stuck in the mud trying to get it back across to the house side. Got him out of the muck, got mother back up to the house and dad ran mother to the hospital while I took a quick shower and got some dry clothes.
So anyway the tractor is now out of the water and mud and up at the tractor shed. The PTO outflow connector will need to be replaced. My clothes are in the washing machine, my shoes are hanging in the sun on the swing set in the back yard. All the "non plastic" in my wallet is laid out under the brooder light. Cell phone was fine because I had left it hooked on the spray tank frame. And I didn't get to go fishing!
Mother? She's fine, as long as she doesn't laugh so hard she falls out of her chair and hits her head. She thinks dad getting the tractor stuck in one creek and me swimming the main creek was pretty funny. She's going to have to have her left hand and forearm in a splint for 4 to 6 weeks, and some lacerations that will need to heel up, but it all appears to be fairly minor.
Me, well I certainly don't have to go far to find any entertainment around my family.

Evening everyone. I had a pleasant day today. Instead of being stuck at my desk I got out to do some field work. Back to the office for a quick lunch then back out to another project outside.
