help installing ignition bezel

help installing ignition bezel

tried to no avail to install the bezel on my 1950 truck. I even bought an after market one, but can't get it to seat on the ignition .

Any install suggestions appreciated; I would think it should just press into place with possible twist to seat it ?

Yes, if I remember correctly once the main part of the switch is through the dash the bezel just twists on. It's been a while since I installed mine so I might be a little foggy on the installation procedure.

I thought it might be the spring inside the bezel but I bought another and have the same issue

See if the tangs mesh correctly with it off the dash. You may have gotten a 51-52 switch, which are different.

As far as I know, there are no reproductions of the 48-50 ignition and parts. Only 51-52. So, if you purchased an aftermarket piece, it's for a 51-52.

Just installed mine the other day. Pushed on with my thumb it went "click" and thats all there is to it. My switch and bezel are both original equipment.

My switch and bezel are probably made in China, and the bezel does not want to twist into place on the switch. It doesn't really fit. It stays in place because of the spring pressure, but I expect it to pop off sometime without notice...
