ignition bezel mounting question

ignition bezel mounting question

I can't seem to figure out how the ignition bezel/ignition switch mounts in the dash of my truck. Is there suppose to be some sort of spacer between the two to compress the spring on the ignition switch?

To remove: Battery cable off..push back of ignition switch towards you, bezel comes off with 1/4 turn.

Between the switch and the dash is an inner mounting plate. (spacer)

Thanks. I believe I am missing this pspacer. do you know the approx thickness of the spacer?

All the parts catalog says is: 1 1/4"-diameter. This shouldered spacer was used on ALL trucks from 1961/66.

spacer between ignition switch and bezel on '66

NPD has a part that is intheir Interior parts catalog. On page 12 they list a mounting plate for a 61-66 part # F10A885-1. They call it an instrument cluster control mounting plate. They do not give any dimensions. Is this the spacer I am missing?
