Aren't these Lines tested in the real world before being marketed and sold? Seems like that would be a great idea to see what works instead of using the paying customer as Guinn ie pigs
That's a genius idea, I never even thought of that....SMH
Yes, they were. I still have the first set in my shop truck with no issues that were installed over 4yrs ago. I also use this same hose in the steelmill I work at and have been in service for as long as I have been there (16yrs all as a Millwright).
That is odd the 'outer' cover of the line gets blisters from air on the inside. That means the air passed threw the inner liner, some middle brained liner, and blisters the outer liner.

It is very odd. They said it's in the vulcanization process with the materials of that particular GH195 hose. Especially since we use it in a few systems at the mill where it's been in use for many years 24/7. Obviously we don't have any air trapped in those systems.
the SS one on old green did not fail. the o-rings gave out after 10+ years.
Correct. With the exception of one hose that I personally screwed up, not one has failed out of the 1000 or so lines to where it left anyone on the side of the road.
And I overnighted him another.
Iirc, Ford's recommendation for their hose replacement is every 125k.

to be fair, old green had ~50k put on in the last 10 years and it did not leave us on the side of the road.
it just started leaving a little puddle of oil everywhere. it would lose about 1 gallon in 5k miles.
was real happy that replacing the o-rings took care of the leak, because we really considered just ditching the HPX. didn't want to since it made a noticeable difference in the idle.
Yesterday I received a brand new hose wrapped in braided stainless steel from Corey at CNC. It was unexpected and came as a surprise. I sent a thank you to Corey this morning and expressed my gratitude for him closing the loop and trying his best to do right by the customer. Even though he has a lot bigger fish to fry than my $50, he still took time out of his day and other work to make sure I was taken care of.
The hose will stay wrapped up and in the garage for now as I don't have any plans as of yet to get into the engine again other than finding a slow oil leak it has sprung. Just wanted to provide an update to my own personal HPx story.
