My f250 has break and turnsignal lights but when i hook up my trailer they dont work on trailer parking lights and my electric brakes work but dont have any turn signal or brake lights on trailer and i dont have fuse panels under hood my 01 has big fuse panel under hood this one dont and have know idea why they wouldn't work all fuses r good thanks for any info
I tested all conectors at trailer plug below bumper with tester I have power to my parking lights power to my electric brakes and power to my trailer charge side but nothing to my turn signal side or brake lights unpluged that from factory plug and checked factor plug and same thing happens and it is wired factor my next move is to trace wires all the way up frame and see if I can find something my 2001 has big fues and relay box under hood for all my trailer stuff but this 04 doesnt figured they changed some stuff around truck is 04 has 72000 miles this lighting got me stumped
I have an 04 also. I just recently repaired my 4 pin connector. My setup has a 4-pin and the round 6-pin (I think its 6) connector. To do the repair, I went under the bumper and unplugged the harness so I could repair it on the bench. Have you checked that connector, the one up by the spare tire, for corrosion? If it does not look corroded, then I also vote for fuses.
Only have one fuse under dash panel for trailer dtop and turn its a 20 amp it testef good but changed it anyways and still no good i even took the trailer plug and unpluged it and tested were it plugs in and still nothing so got to be from plug back up in to truck
i always had problems with the whole "plug" setup that goes into the connector on my truck for the trailer lights...it always had a bad connection..so i cut it before the plug and hard wired a new connector with no plug... and no problems after 2 years
how is your wiring problem coming? I also have an 04 F250 Diesel and just came in from outside checking my trailer lights (to see if I can be of any help being an 04). When I turn on my left turn signal there is a clicking under the dash, but there is also a relay clicking under the hood, It is on the drivers side and comes from the box closest to the firewall (three black boxes near brake booster, but the one closest to the fire wall). I am assuming that this box contains the relay for the trailer lights (I did not take it apart because it was nicely taped up from the factory). I did pull fuse #6 from under the dash. The trailer left turn signal went out, but the truck turn signal stayed on and the relay under the hood continued to click. Put the #6 fuse back in and the trailer left turn light came back on again.
If you are not getting this relay clicking under the hood, you are going to have to figure out why. If it is clicking, you probably could test at #6 fuse to see if power is going to the fuse box, one side should go on-off the other side should be dead.
Thanks im going to check relays under hood cause the one under dash does click but I dont think the one under hood clicks seen there was relays in the taped up box but didnt know what they was for ill let you know what I find out thanks again
