The refresh rate of the SG2 leaves a lot to be desired as well.

Some key ones that aren't common, but are important - FICM Sync, CAM/Crank Sync, and ICP desired.

As long as someone has the initial hardware, the DashBoss and Torque APP are great options

Hey Mark, I know... First post, long time lurker!! LOL!

Just a FYI, The 6.0 beta testers for DashBoss has been testing FICM SYNC/CAM/Crank. Works great!!! Also testing Injection Timing PID, and actual ICP psi (not fooled psi) when running a tuned PCM.

These PIDs should be released shortly to the public.

No longer BETA testing, all of that and much more came out in the DashBoss 1.6 release

and my current main screen of 12 gauges...

And then 2 more screens of 4...

hey there! welcome to FTE.

That is great news on the DashBoss! Sounds like it is now (or soon to be)a complete package.

I get amused when folks harp in "this-is-better-than-that" though. For some reason each system has had some gaps. maybe we are seeing a clear winner emerge now.

Hey Josh,

I didn't know Ken released Injection BTDC with the 1.6. I'm using the Beta Firmware and app, so I had no knowledge what's available to the public.

Soon you will be able to get ICP Calc psi, this will let you read actual ICP psi thru the OBDII, instead of hand calculating the ICPv to ICPpsi.

Thanks for the Welcome!!!

I agree, it becomes a pissing match. Buyers are gonna stay with in there budget and what they preferr (eye candy). As long as the monitor can read the important PIDs, that's all it should matters. Then it just comes down to money and personnal preference.

There was a lot more in that release as well, but beyond the 12 gauge screen I don't pay too much attention.

I have been in contact with Ken about adding a PRND321 PID as well for the 6.0. It works fine for other Ford vehicles including the 6.4 and 6.7, but for some reason it doesn't jive with the 6.0.

Have you contacted Ken about being a beta tester, I'm sure we could use more ideas/input. I only know of myself and two other beta tester with the 6.0.

I've spoken to Ken and Mike. Mike works in the same city I do, Fort Collins, Colorado.

The main feature I would like to see is FICM or PCM Flash version, but other than that I am more than happy with what I have.

But I am more than willing to have my truck used to further the support of the DashBoss. As for the PRND321 PID I am supposed to be meeting with Mike soon to get that sorted out.

NICE!!! Somebody close to them for real live testing!!

ECM/TCM/FICM calibrations was brought up, but was postponed mostly because of the GM vehicles. Hopefully soon!!

That's what I heard too. The Fords have a few updates here and there and GM has hundreds.

I finally have the iPhone 4 and the DashBoss app. What do you guys recommend as a connector? I saw a lot of people using the Torque app (Android only) have the PLX Kiwi 2 Wifi connector to do it wirelessly, but I really don't need the wireless capabilities. It doesn't bother me to have a cable running down the side. Plus, that Kiwi wifi connector is about $139.

Update: So I went to the DashBoss website and found that the cable is $169, so I'm back to square 1. I guess if I have to, I'll just spring for the cable, but if anyone has a cheaper idea that works with the iPhone 4 and the Dashboss app, let me know.

It doesn't even have to be the DashBoss. I saw the "DashCommand" app as well and the "Rev" app. All still need the connector though and that seems to be where the money is.

Well, after a full afternoon of reading about DashBoss, DashCommand, Torque, Rev, etc. I decided to go with the DashBoss. I just ordered the cable/wifi adapter and already have the free app. We'll see how it goes. For the Torque, I'd have had to mess with getting an Andorid device. With the Dashcommand, I'd have had to get the ELMwifi adapter and there are so many choices and reviews on their connectivity were 50/50. I ended up relying on all the positive comments and LACK of hassle associated with the DashBoss. I wanted to monitor/test FICM and fuel pressure. I have the blue spring kit, I just wanted to get a baseline before I swap. I also was told that my FICM was getting on the weaker side, so I want to get a baseline on that before I send it out to Ed. I'll probably start a new post when it comes in and I test.
