surging

first I want to thank all who has replyed to my truck problem , next I went to napa auto and used there otc3108 scanner good untill I buy the scan gauge II this is what it read by the way I disconnected the egr for 2 days these are the codes po403 and p0405 the scan was ;
1. baro 100 kpa
2. map 101 kpa
3. coolent 71 deg
4. Iat 68 deg
5. acc pos D 17.2% dont know what these mean,
6. accpos E 27.8 %
7. acc posF 16.4%
8. Vpwr 11.375 { V }
9. Pto status disen dont know what there asking
the truck was key on not started this is a 03/04 f-350 6.0
I dont know how to pull up or keep my old posts current so you guys can see the history , anouther words my fingers are getting tired of typeing the same thing over and over LOL. I hope the numbers work not the best scanner of choises but they let me use it untill I can get a better one.

When my truck was surging intermittently the icp sensor was going bad, my check engine light did not come on but it did have p2285 code stored when I scanned it. I replaced the icp sensor and cleaned harness and all is better.

Thanks I will do that too the ebp sencer and 1/4 line on the next pay check.

That Looks Very Low You may have a Bad FICM need to check FICM Voltage also check Batterys Load Test separatly and Alternator output

But that Voltage is LOW

Dont buy a EBP sensor Yet or EBP Tube


Get a ScanGauge before you throw parts at it

you need to check the FICM Voltage you can do this with a DVM how to in tech folder

If you lose your thread use the search feature even click advance search and enter the thread title and Usser Name ect..................

Oh that voltage was with KOEO=Key On Engine Off

I see thats NOT so bad Now

thought htat was running volts for a second LOL

Get a ScanGaugeII going Id do that before you start changing Parts

Surging can be Turbo or HPO Relaited get a SGII and get some Live Data

Thank you Benny my Father in law can check Voltage, I will try to post back in the Surgingdo you mind takeing the e-mail from this post if I send via surging post some how I got wolfmans e-mail { my in box} to a responce I did weeks back.I'm learning lots of input my truck and computer

Ok guys happy merry bithday to me , Just bought a scan Gauge II , now I need to learn what all the numbers and functions are telling me so here it goes
all of these tests were at 65 mph and 1950 rpms.
1. first start cold { 1st set of readings}
tps= 661,655,660 a mis droped to 610
hpr=4.1, 4.3
tfc=0.08/ 0.21,0.22
vlt=13.5/13.7
fia=119/121
lod=20, 13/14 at 1000rpm
map=14.6 , 14.9,17.1 at 1500rpm
cleared old codes p0403/p0405 I disconnected egr weeks pryer the codes came back
2nd set of readings {hot start}65mph 1950 rpm
bst=4.4
hpr=30/33
wt=186f
I did a long incline up to 1009 elevation temp or wt went to 191f/195f
hpr 26/28
I cant drive 65 went to 2000rpm at 70mph
bst=4.4/5.5
hpr=30/33
wt=186f
mpg=24/28
cpm=140
sorry once I learn this scanner I'll keep the numbers down or take some things out. I did notice first surge at 1000/1300rpm tack went to 2000+rpm

newbe here , I was in the x area but didnt know about any codes ,I'll read up again theres a lot to decifer ,do any of the readings make sence looks like the temp or wt stay the same but map and bst are sparatic.
