not an average tps adjustment

ok so ive been having problems with my truck for about a week and i think i got it narrowed down to the tps. i bought a new one and installed it but i cannot get the wot adjustment lower then like 6.8 , is there somthing else i can do. could it be possible that the throttle stop screw is way off ? i know where i need to be and i have been adjusting it now for quite a while. i think im in the home stretch and if i can just get this dialed in ........ i have read the other post on tps but they dont say what to do when you have this much of a space between idle and wot.

thats crazy voltage.
even the power supply to the TPS is only like 5 volts.iirc the bottom wire (if im wrong,no matter, just measure the other outside one instead.one is ground, the other is supply)
the center wire your getting over 6V on? are you sure you have your meter selected to the proper voltage? probably like a 20V dc selection.
if your getting 6.8V on the center wire, what do you get on the bottom/supply wire?

yeah i had it in acv now in dcv i got it to 1.2 -4.3 and i replaced the tach sensor it seems to drive alot better but i still think its not going into o/d i count three shifts and when i get up to highway speeds its at like 2300 rpm. could this have to do with my bouncey speedo? the vss on the diff is new but the one on my transfer case looks old and battered.

1991 and older are cable driven speedos. It does not matter to the tranny if the speedo bounces. You may want to replace that nasty sensor on the tx case and check that the wires are not worn through or grounding out anywhere.

well i replaced the vss at the t-case and the speedo is bouncing worse, also is my 1990 supposed to have both the t-case and the abs vss in the pig? because it dose and on all the other forums it looks lik the vss on the pig is for the later models.

I can't speak for anything transfer case related since I have only dealt with 2WD trucks. I'm sure someone here knows, though.
